Office pranks & ideas - PrankCo
Birthday pranks The next time
someone is having an office birthday don't get them an age appropriate
gift. Instead, get them something to make them feel a little
older. 40 year olds love when you give them cheap
over the hill gags or a candle that simply says "old" just as
much as teenagers like it when you treat them like adults.
Bug the office Get
a few fake roaches or other fake bugs and place
them where they are sure to get the most reaction, like under their computer
mouse or mug.
Calling all tiles From "The
Office" - take a co-workers cell phone and hide it above the ceiling
panels, or in some other obscure place that they can't find such as a vending
machine or microwave.
Candy dish If
you have a communal candy dish at reception or in the break room, throw in a
few curveballs for your co-workers to find, such as red hot candies, bertie
botts, or how about mustard or fish
flavored candy.
Cord switch If your office has desks
close together, switch the mouse, keyboard or monitor cords of two of your
co-workers. Better yet, switch two phonelines so that they will be
answering each other's calls.
Decaf express This requires a bit of
work & is also omniscient of something you might see Jim pull on Dwight @ NBC's
"The Office". Over the course of a week or so, make the office
coffee slightly stronger each day. Not enough for anyone to notice, but
just enough. After everyone has acclimated to all of that extra caffeine
the following week, switch to decaf and watch everyone crash. Or vice
versa.
Drawer swap Switch all of the
victims desk drawers around if they are the same size & can be
removed. If not, then do it the manual way and put everything in another
drawer.
Dribble cups Create dribble
glasses out of all of the cups by the water cooler by poking small
pinholes in them.
Jello mold Here
is another classic from "The Office". Take your marks stapler,
or better yet their favorite mug, and freeze it into Jello. Just make
sure that whatever you use won't be damaged, or won't matter. Make the
jello according to the directions on the box, and then before it solidifies
& after it has cooled down insert the object.
Mail them a gag Buy them to a
subscription to an embarrassing magazine or get them a free trial to something
they hate. Or buy an cheap
inflatable doll or sheep and make sure it is shipped to their work address.
New
hire pranks There is no
better way to break in a new employee than a good prank. You can get new
hires to believe practically anything so long as everyone in the office plays
along. Convince them not to look a certain person in the eyes, or to not
begin work each morning until the boss says "and begin". Or
tell them that this upcoming Friday is 'dress up like a pirate' day, or send
them to random missions to the basement or annex, so long as your office has
neither.
Peephole prank This
works when their office has a peephole in the door and no windows viewable
from any halls. Put something heavy in front of the door such as
desk. Around the peephole, fill a box full of trash and/or random items
and then tape that to the door, so when they look in that is all they will
see.
Pen pranks Take
each pen out of their desk and glue the tops on, or dip the tip of each in
clear nail polish. Or you could take all of the ink refills out, puzzling
them as to why all of their ink has run dry. And don't forget about the
classic electric shock pen - leave one around
and someone is sure to pick it up.
Rising chair Tie a sturdy string
under their office chair holding down the height-adjustment button. When
they sit on the chair it will fall, and when they get up it will rise on its
own.
Surf's up Take a bunch of plastic
(or paper) cups and cover the surface of someone's entire desk with
them. Now fill each cup with water. Now here is the prank part -
staple them all together on each side.
Upside downside Go through your
office and flip everything upside down. Posters, frames, computer
keyboards, mugs -- just about anything that isn't glued or can't be damaged
should be flipped without a second thought. Or isolate it to one desk or
cubicle and move everything to the opposite of the desk, everything on the
right moves over to the left.
Water cooler pranks Put
a few drops of blue coloring food into the office water cooler and
nonchalantly leave an empty cleaning bottle near. Drink the water in
front of everyone and insist it's got way more flavor than the old
water, or ask if anyone else tastes a "chemical" taste. Or try
throwing in a baby ruth & pretending not to see it, or you can even fill
it with cheap rubber
duckies.
